Too bad it does not physically fit in my motherboard.
But it looks sooo cool.
The cover for the heat sink on my processor is about 1/8 inch in the way. The thing the mouse and keyboard plug into are directly in the way.
I have spiraled down into a pit of depression.
/me dies of sadness
Instead of upgrading to an 8800 gts, I have downgraded to an x300se. _________________

I still have it, I'm not sure if I should rma it for a single slot card, or build a new system with it.
I'd need a new mobo as well, it does not fit in the one I currently have. _________________

If anyone knows how I can fix this with minimal additional parts please help me out, I don't know what I'm doing but want to do it and learn fast.
I'm pretty sure I just need a case and new mobo.
If I change my mobo, how does that affect my processor and fans and such?
My pc (gateway 825gm) has this crazy 'wind tunnel' cooling thing. Or would I be better off building a whole new system?
I need help. _________________

depending on what socket your processer is, you may be better off getting a new processer.
your hdd's, optical drives, and possibly power supply can stay. just a new case and mobo.
btw, to find out what type of processer you have, googe search CPUZ and download that. it tells you everything _________________

well I already got a new power supply for this card it's a 500 watt one, the one on this is only 300 the card needed a min of 400.
So it looks like either building a new system, or changing cards.
Is there a pci 8800gts? Would that be worth it? I have 2 open pci slots... _________________

I think what I'm gonna do is:
Make do with what I have until I get a single slot video card for my current pc.
And
Build another pc using the 8800 and 500 watt power supply slowly over the coming months.
What is a good single slot pcie card that'll last tech wise? (7000 series or maybe 8600?)
And
Can someone help me with a list of everything I need to build the rest of this system. I've never built one from scratch, and want to do it.
Or would I be better off buying one?
Oh, and if my house sells for what I'm asking for it, I'm buying a new card for this system, another new system that'll house the 8800, and a badass widescreen monitor.
Thanks in advance for your advice and suggestions. (Except Welder who says I fail at life. He can go to hell.)

Dude... Just MOD it! If the cover-thing is plastic, hold a lighter to it until it melts 1/8" away. If the thing is metal, get a hacksaw or rasp and cut the f'er up! _________________ 3DMark06 18,827 | Intel I7 920 | BFG GTX 285 2GB (two running in SLI) | Corsair DDR3 1600 6GB RAM | EVGA X58 3X SLI Mobo | Win7 64 Ultimate | Two WD Raptor 150GB Striped | Two Seagate 1.5TB Mirrored | Dell 30" UltraSharp 3007WFP-HC (2560x1600) | Acer x223w 22" to the left and right | HP TX2-1020us Touchsmart Laptop | Tertiary computer for Vent access | PedalPax Versa foot pedal for Vent-talk trigger | Nexus One |

his problem is that the ps/2 ports for his keyboard/mouse are also in the way. i guess he could break them off, but idk if that will cause issues with the mobo _________________
