Well think of it this way... your laptop gets DAMN hot when it's operating... So unless it gets like 120 degrees in the car or something, should be ok.
But not a good idea to leave an expensive laptop in a car though due to possible theft _________________ Lethal Ambition: I'd hit it

I think the above picture of a case I left in my truck in august with the windows up will answer this plenty well. . . _________________

A what car?
A) Never lock or leave ANYTHING in your car if you have a risk of somebody wanting to steal something inside. The broken window you'll have to replace is the biggest pain out of anything.
B) What Bulk showed _________________

I think it gets hotter than 120 degrees in a car in summer.
No, this is a hat car:

I don't see any reason why that would hurt the laptop. The LCD might look funky until it cools down, so you may not want to turn it on right away. Direct sunlight might be a bad thing (as evidenced by the CD case above).
The internal components heat up to at least that temp during normal operation, so I think you're ok. Let it cool off a bit prior to use.
You have a stereo, right? It works doesn't it? _________________ 3DMark06 18,827 | Intel I7 920 | BFG GTX 285 2GB (two running in SLI) | Corsair DDR3 1600 6GB RAM | EVGA X58 3X SLI Mobo | Win7 64 Ultimate | Two WD Raptor 150GB Striped | Two Seagate 1.5TB Mirrored | Dell 30" UltraSharp 3007WFP-HC (2560x1600) | Acer x223w 22" to the left and right | HP TX2-1020us Touchsmart Laptop | Tertiary computer for Vent access | PedalPax Versa foot pedal for Vent-talk trigger | Nexus One |

they're also designed to handle the heat, espically in the winter when the heater is cranked and radient heat from the heater box is soaking up the dash making it extreamly hot. _________________

| Well, never leave anything like that in direct sunlight in a car. You can have any electronics in a car, as long as the sun doesn't beam it's rays directly onto it through the glass. putting a backpack, jacket or sweater overtop (the lighter the better) and it will be just fine. Plus it hides whats under it.... ;o) |

Know this is old but did anyone think about the battery. Those things arn't designed for extensive heat for long periods of time, could damage the battery life. _________________ Gigabyte H55N-USB3 m-ITX - i5 760 2.8Ghz - 4GB Corsair Dominator DHX PC3-12800 - EVGA GTX470 - 1Tb Samsung F3 - W7 Ultimate - SG07 Silverstone Case w/ 600w PSU.
